Equipment

  • 2 Mixing bowls 1 for dry ingredients and 1 for wet
  • 1 Hand or electric mixer
  • 1 cookie sheet large or small, depending on how much you want to make
  • 1 Wire rack

Materials

Cookies

  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 cup packed dark brown sugar
  • sticks butter salted or unsalted, up to you
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 325°F. Line your cookie sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a mixing bowl and after sifting, whisk together the flour, baking soda and salt.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the sugars, butter until well combined.
  • Add in the eggs and vanilla.
  • Mix the dry and the wet ingredients with a spatula until well combined.,
  • Stir in the chocolate chips with the same spatula.
  • With your scooper or hand, form balls of dough and put them onto the cookie sheet.
  • Put cookies in preheated oven for 12-15 minutes.
  • Transfer to wire rack to cool

Notes

  • Shift flour and sugar before use! This will remove clumps from these ingredients
  • Use parchment paper! To ensure they don’t stick to the pan, even if it is greased.
  • Do NOT over mix the ingredients. This can make the cookies too tough. 
  • Use an ice cream scooper for larger cookies: because the bigger the better!
  • Store in a ziplock bag or airtight container. This will ensure that the cookies remain soft and moist
