Orangutans

Orangutans are basically the introverts of the jungle — super smart, chill, and prefer doing their own thing. They use tools such as twigs and leaves to makeshift umbrellas, which shows how intelligent they are. This actually makes sense because we share 97% of our DNA with them.

Orangutan pregnancies last about 8.5 months, similar to humans. Moms give birth to one baby at a time and are super dedicated. They care for their young for up to 7 years, the longest of any land mammal (beside humans).

Gorillas

When a silverback beats its chest, the sound can carry over a kilometer through the dense forest! Chest beating is a form of non-vocal communication, used to display size, strength, and confidence.
